Sherry's Biography & Partners

Sherry has always loved horses and got her first pony “Ginger” when she was only two years old, the same age as Ginger. They grew up together and were riding with the wind at a very young age. They were best friends and Ginger lived to be over 30 years old helping lots of cousin, nieces and nephews learn to ride.
Sherry grew up in a rodeo family, so competition was what everyone did with their horses. Besides rodeos, the family competed in 4-H, local horse shows and gymkhanas. It seemed that most of the horse people that she knew just rode their horses to practice for the competitions. Sherry probably spent more time just hanging out with her horse, riding the pastures for pleasure, jumping the hay bales in the alfalfa field, swimming the rivers together, and pretending to be a pioneer, a jockey in the Kentucky derby, a rider in the Olympics, or a circus trick rider.
It seemed the relationship was always more important to her than winning the competition. The winning was not near as satisfying or lasting as that ride bareback along the river with the wind blowing freely in her face, feeling the muscles of her steed beneath her as they became one. What little girl hasn’t gained confidence, strength, character, value, responsibility and power from the love relationship with her horse?
After attending college to be trained as a teacher Sherry went to work for the Howard Pitzer Ranch near Ericson, NE riding young horses. It was a great learning experience for Sherry. Even without the knowledge, and skills that she has since acquired, the Pitzers thought she was great with horses. That could only be attributed to raw talent, because what she truly knew about horses was very limited. Thankfully that raw talent is being molded and refined into an effective means of communication through an intense desire to study and learn.
Sherry has worked at all kinds of jobs the past 25 years. She has always been involved in phsyical & mental health programs as well. She has owned a diet center, has a minor in psychology, and sells skin care products. But scattered throughout, was the pattern of always going back to the horse training.
People started to come to her more often for lessons, so with the combination of her teacher training and horsemanship talent it just seemed to happen naturally. A favorite horseman who has inspired Sherry, says that luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.
Sherry has a burning desire to share everything that has been made available to her with others, and to help people realize their dream with their horses in a natural way.
When the natural horsemanship clinics started becoming popular in the 90’s Sherry discovered the holes in her foundation that had hindered her from taking her raw talent into a harmonious art form. This newfound knowledge inspired her with a new determination and dedication to share the importance of a natural foundation, which will develop a relationship with your horse that will change your life.
Sherry hopes to be instructing students and sharing her passion for mental, physical and emotional fitness for horsemen and their horses all the rest of her days.
